hi all!
i'm Jen! May 1st i moved to a new apartment in brooklyn with a massive backyard (by NYC standards that is). since then I have been voraciously reading posts on here and i finally started building my coop this weekend!! i am planning on getting 3 hens! here are some photos of my progress thus far!
this is the yard when we first moved in:

and this is after 3 weeks of clearing weeds, picking up lots of trash (thanks a lot NYC), tilling, and finally building the coop (2'x3'x3') and framing out the run (6'x7'x7')!!

here is a closer view of the coop:

by using a lot of recycled/found wood i have spent less than $100 on the whole thing so far including the roll of hardware cloth (hopefully going up tonight)! any advice/critiques/etc. would be greatly appreciated!! thanks so much for all of the info! this site is the best!!
