Hello all-

We're from NW New Jersey, in an area with lots of lakes, ponds and creeks. We moved here about two years ago, and on the first weekend, one of the neighbors knocked on our door and told us that another neighbors duck had hatched 18 ducklings, but was ignoring them all. Did we want to go take a few?

So we did, and wound up with 6 khaki campbells, 3 males and 3 females. We have about 3 acres, and a spring- and creek-fed pond that's about 20x40, so we figured we'd raise them in the house, then they'd live in the pond. Over the course of that year, we lost one to a snapping turtle, so we rid the pond of turtles. We built them a duckhouse by the pond, which they wouldn't use, and we lost 3 to fox during the winter, when the pond was almost totally iced over.

We kept the remaining two all through the next summer, and the moment we saw the first ice in the pond, in they went to a 10x10 barn. We kept them all through last winter, and this March the female hatched 3 ducklings, we think 1 female and two males.

Now we're getting ready to let them out to the pond once again. We're really happy to have found this place!
