    Hey y'all
My boyfriend & i have been doing some research and wanted to get a Australorp & a Barred rock. We have previous experience with chickens but not those breeds. They both seem friendly and good with kids (we have a 2 year old son). Just wanted to have some thoughts on the breeds And having them together. Thanks :)

[IMG] I'm not familiar with either breed, tho they are both popular choices. I just wanted to say if you can have more, it would be a good idea to get 3 or 4. Chickens are flock animals. If you have 2 and lose one for whatever reason - the other bird will be lonely. If you add a new bird as a companion - especially a different age and size, they might fight instead of being friends.
