Yes, we are crazy embarking on this chicken journey....Me being a crazy Texas woman married to a Yankee with no kids just a big ol American Bulldog named Lulu to keep me company most of the time....Needs a new hobby....

Ohh I cant for get Lulu's G-Mamma & Grampy as our neighbors...well across the garden if that can be considered neighbors

and the occasional visit from PopPop who manages to escape the good life of retirement in Vegas to visit us...

We live in a small town in S/Central Texas...we are getting silkies and something else within the week...We are getting more mature juvenile birds to start with....

Chicken coop planning & building has been a joy!!! Not! The Yankee works tells me all my planning is wrong and I start over again...We live on 3 acres with my mom & stepdad (G-Mamma & Grampy) so we have a big garden and in a few months maybe we will get some goats too...

We are newbies to chickens...I have been researching them for 2 years and finally decided to take the plunge!!! Lord help me and the rest of the family...I hear CHICKEN MATH can take over quickly!!!

I love sharing knowledge and getting to know new people...so happy chicken parenting everyone!!!

Oh, chicken math. Tell me about it. Build a big coop! You're going to need the extra space LOL

Hello and welcome from Ohio....so glad you joined BYC.
If you've never had silkies you will love them. Well at least I love mine, wish I could have a 100 of them.
Best of luck with your coop building and trying to resist the urge to have one of each breed out there :)
