I loved your post about starting chickens in the Okanagan. I went online to find out about predators and how to keep chickens through the cold Okanagan winters. I am from the coast and was a backyard chicken farmer in the city for years. I am really missing "my girls" and am preparing to build a coop and run for just a couple of Buff Orpingtons. Just wondered if a portable coop would be suitable for these kinds of winters or if the hens would freeze to death. Looking for any tips you might have.
