Hello everyone, I finally joined and am posting after a couple of months of just relying on your forum for information! I have 4 chicks arriving on the 22nd, and I'm finishing up building my coop now.

I'm also into gardening, mostly biointensive/square foot gardening, and I always need more compost! That's part of why I decided to get chickens, but it also seemed like a fun hobby for people who are around the house most of the time anyway. Professionally I'm a baker/pastry chef, so I'm sure I'll put some of the eggs to use with that as well!
 
Welcome to this very helpful website. I got six pullets last summer and we have more eggs than we can use. I've made lots of egg custard, frittata, egg salad sandwiches, and baked any recipe I can find that calls for at least two eggs! I hope you have such good luck and put all those eggs you'll be getting to good use.:fl:frow
