It is possible that your incubator doesn't read humidity and that you need to go and buy a hygrometer at petsmart, radio shack etc etc.
I don't have a brinsea but on their website spec section the octagon 40 it says humidity optional ... Not sure if that means an additional cost feature.... You can also post on their Facebook wall to get a reply if nobody chimes in here.
