New Incubator....First attempt.

Just got the new Brinsea Octagon 20 w/Humidity Pump setup

. Drove down an picked up the eggs this morning. Just put 13 White Chantecler eggs in the incubator.

. First time hatching eggs and using an incubator. So now to wait an see what appears and happens.

My husband and I are attempting this too. We just got a little giant with a turner. Does anyone have any helpful hints besides candling?

I set my temp at 99.6 and humidity at 45%

I've been tuning my Dickey these last several days in hopes of setting my first turkey eggs this weekend or early next week.

For my LG, I keep my temp from 100-102. It seems to hold fairly well there. And all my eggies are developing!

It is worth using a secondary thermometer and hygrometer in the incubator to confirm that the unit came calibrated correctly from the factory. In my experience with both brinsea and rcom temperature has been off by 1 or 2 degrees farenheit.

Three eggs hatched today. Three little fuzzy butts in the incubator and awaiting a fourth one to hatch that just pipped a few hours ago. The fifth egg hasn't done anything yet, got my fingers crossed for it too. They are White Chanteclers.
