I w wondering if anyone can help me. I just got a new incubator, a 48 egg incubator Janoel Automatic. I've tried to hatch 2 batches of geese/duck eggs and they do not hatch. I have the temperature set at 37.3 and try to keep the humidity around 30% (although it does fluctuate a bit). I have calibrated the temperature with a thermometer and it is accurate. Should I send the incubator back? Is ther something I am doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. Mountain Peeps has given you some great links for inquiring about the problems with your incubator. Feel free to ask any other questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Good luck with your incubator. I don't have waterfowl but I have heard they are very difficult to hatch. I am sure someone can give you some good advice.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Kelsie X2 You need to stop by the Geese and Duck forums for more details on hatching either of these breeds. I doubt it has anything to do with your incubator.

Good luck with all your hatches and welcome to our flock!

Nothing wrong with your incubator but your humidity is really low 30% humility should only be for the first 7 to 10 days and when you do your candling and mark your egg's at this point you up the Humidity ,,, remove the Vent plugs and you should only have 18 days to go ........

are you using a mister to mist you egg's daily and are you turning you egg's with a turner or by hand ......

Duck egg's are a bit more difficult then chickens but it can be dune ......

Geese you really need to know what you are doing to try this .....
