Hey everyone,
I came across the forum looking into changing the chicken zoning laws. I currently live in Bessemer City, North Carolina and we recently received notice that we were violating by having chickens on our property. We have had our 6 chickens, no rooster, for a little over a year so it has been saddening to know we are giving them up. Luckily we have found a friend of a friend that will be able to take them while we work on this issue. I have just started browsing but would love to connect with some people in the area interested in working to change the ordinance. At this time BC allows chickens on 2 acres of land, but not on smaller lots. Generally lots in this area are about half an acre.
