New Isa Brown Mom

Hello and welcome to BYC! My very first chickens were ISA Browns, and I've had over 100 since then. I absolutely adore their personalities; they are so friendly, smart, curious and funny. It is normal for ISA Brown pullets/hens to lay big, beautiful, golden-brown eggs every single day. Which means that the fact one of your pullets suddenly stopped laying is not normal. Unfortunately their little bodies pay a very high price for such a high lay rate. It would be unusual for one of your pullets to already be having reproductive problems, but it is a possibility. Continue to observe her behaviors, and you can also do bi-weekly physical exams. As much as my ISAs are constantly underfoot, they don't like to be picked up, but you can do a wellness check when they are on the roost at night. If your non-laying pullet shows any signs of illness, don't hesitate to create a thread in the Emergencies forum and ask for advice. The medical experts on that forum are extremely knowledgeable and always happy to help.
Thanks so much! I am in love with my Isa’s, they follow me everywhere, and talk to me, they made themselves modified free range, leaving the chicken yard for the larger fenced yard several times a day, and put themselves to bed the minute the sun sets, really cute. The non laying hen is acting totally normal. The three act as one, are happy, chatty, eating drinking normally, everyone was laying one egg a day same time from 17 weeks, then one stopped laying about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Have had no changes in their diet or routine. So hmmm.
Thanks for everyone’s welcome and thoughts! Great to be part of the group :)

Great news! Bess layed an egg today! 2-3 weeks since she stopped. Praying it continues! The only change I made was adding oyster shells and a touch of apple cider vinegar to their water. They don’t seem to like the oyster shells though but am keeping it out for them anyways. This egg is LARGE too and not as brown. Hopefully she’ll continue to lay, was really worried about her. Although she continued to act perfectly normal and healthy.
Thanks for all the great advice and the support. Really appreciate this group!
