Hello! My name is Tara. I bought a house in September and the previous owners left the ladies. So I inherited them and I love them all. I originally started with 16 but 6 of them have died from predators (due to not being able to clip their wings) I am fixing that problem by building my own coop so I can actually go into it at night (those leghorns sure are skittish). All of the other non-flyers are safe though
So I now have 10 beautiful babes. 2 leghorns, 5 tan/red hens (i think there is 2 different breeds there) and 3 grey ones (also think each one of them are a different breed but perhaps one lavender orphington). Unfortunately, the previous owner couldn't tell me what she had
This spring I got 6 new babies! 2 EE, 2 Olive Eggers, 1 cream brabanter, and 1 mottled houdan. Its been so fun watching them grow.
My other hobbies are crocheting, and paddle boarding the river. I also have 3 doggies. I actually heard about backyard chickens through a book I bought 7 years ago before I moved to Oregon, in hopes to be a chicken owner! Now all of my dreams have come true !!
Cant wait to talk Chick with yall
