New Jersey

Does anybody know if there will be a Chik Chat this year? The kirbybros website doesn't have any events listed.

Also, is there somewhere a list of upcoming chicken related events in NJ?

Welcome! They say they are just now working on chick chat. So they will hopefully soon have something updated. As far as upcoming, there is a spring show up in Sussex, ugh far, I think around may.

Yes, Kirby's is definitely having Chick Chat again. I'll share details when they announce the date.

They're also getting in their first chicks next week -- sometime around the 25th. For this first shipment, they are getting: Easter Eggers, Barred Rock, Buff Orpington, RIR, Jersey Giant, S.L. Wyandotte, Light Brahama, and Hubbard Golden Comet.

Lol. I hear you!

I just set a BIG batch of eggs. I set as many as I could collect - some are a little old, and I haven't been diligent about turning the eggs, so I don't know how many will hatch. But I have 15 EE's, 14 silkies (all black, should be both showgirls and standards), 12 OE (wheaten marans roo x EE hen) and 21 wheaten marans eggs set.

Last time I set the EE eggs, they were not fertile, so I am not counting on those, but it'd be nice if they are fertile now!!! My roo is splash laced red and is beautiful.
They should hatch on about 3/14, I'll candle next week and will update on their progress for the people who were interested :)
Cross fingers and toes for good fertility, so far I've only incubated my silkies (which have been 100% fertile), and the EE's (which were 0% fertile...LOL). I am dying for my marans and OE's!
