New just trying to get information

    Hello Everyone Im New To this But I Just Needed Some Information I Have 2 Baby Chicks And A New Duckling But I Was Wondering Does Anyone Know If Its Normal For My Duckling To Have His Mouth Just a Tiny Bit Open ? I Change His Water A Lot And I Dod Have Lamp On But Even When I Turned it Off He Was Still Like That Its Not like Him To Be Like That ..... Also My Chick Cries Alot Is That Normal ? And He Is Always So Tired I understand He Is A Baby But The female is so active Why Isnt He?

    As for the chick that cries all the time, what temp are you keeping your brooder at? If you have your heat lamp set up on one side of the brooder so one side is warmer than the other, the chick can move between warm spots and cooler spots as she wants. You'll want to keep that heat lamp on all the time while they are still young. Are you using a red light bulb or white (red is recommended)? Is the crying one getting enough to eat and drink or does she have pasty butt?

    There are lots of things that could be causing the one chick to peep all the time, maybe if you give us more information on your brooder set up (or even a photo) that would help.
