Meet Raleigh, a beautiful 3 year-old Doberman my son adopted from our local Humane Society. He's an absolute love, with the best of the Dobie qualities. Which means he's a smart, protective, obediant goofball!

He's also beautiful - did we get lucky or what?

Thanks! I will keep y'all updated, he's a fun dog. We just wish we knew what happened to his rear leg, you can see the signs of an old injury in that picture. The Humane Society didn't know what happened. He has his first vet appointment next week, maybe she'll be able to shed some light on it. It doesn't seem to slow him down any, though!

I love Dobes. My family bred AKC Dobes when I was a kid. That scar on his leg is pretty close to where he would have had a cruciate ligament repair surgery. My dog Cody had one a few years ago. It's a common injury. Here is Cody after surgery:

My sister had a doberman, he was spoilt rotten!
Honestly! He would climb up on the couch with you, nip the throw (blanket) pull it over himself, and then gently but firmly put his feet against you till he pushed you out or off of the chair!
