Well, I was told it was going to happen. They were out all day and they found a new place to hang.

I have a frame for a pontoon awning. They were jumping up and down it all day long. Now they are all sleeping on it. I really see no harm since the weather is nice. Cats would have to rustle something to get to them and they would hopefully fly when spooked.

Here is a photo of them. The flash did its job.

They ate like maniacs all day. It was beautiful.

Should I have rustled them back into the coop or let them be wild? It was very warm tonight. Close to 80. I wonder what I will have to do when it gets really cold.

I'd break their habit of roosting outside soon if I were you, owls will pick them off and keep coming back for a free meal as long as they have access to your Guineas. Guineas are blind in the dark, so if they get spooked off their roost by any type pf predator they are sitting ducks. Predator season is bad right now, everything has it's own young to feed.

I ran them in the coop today. There will be bad storms in the afternoon and I dont want any problems.

They are your birds, so of course you can let them roost where ever you/they want, but IMO you just went thru all that hard work of building them a nice coop, they should roost in there and be safe from predators!

Even though they slept outside, they came inside this morning for some feed. I only put feed inside the run/coop.

anyone know of an easy way to get them out of trees at dusk? These guys hop out of the frame I have and then hide in the trees. Some nights I forget and it gets too dark to get them down.

Once they go in the trees, and it gets dark, they can't see (they are blind in the dark). So they won't come down unless you can reach them somehow. And when/if you can reach them, they will more than likely panic and scatter when you do... so they likely aren't going to follow you to their coop. Gotta stay one step ahead of them and get them in before dark, and make it a routine rather than letting them make their own routine of getting up into the trees

Leon--Mine had a sleep out last night...not saying it's a good thing, but I'm sick of fighting with my birds

It makes me wonder if I let them sleep out will they come in if they need to, like in the winter?
