New layer? Egg bound/pain?

To be honest I don't think she is... she's usually a free ranger gobbling up everything. She's 2nd in the flock, only to the first and "eldest". Something is up... I just don't know what it may be...
hopefully she's not losing weight.

She's been in "confinement" for a week. I'm sure she has. I just hope it's not devastating.
If you think she's already lost 5-10% of her bodyweight you need to start thinking about tube feeding. :hide

I have thought about that. I've never done it before, but I'm willing. Her appetite has come back.. I'm not sure with whats going on with her neck is allowing her to eat.

Sorry if I've missed it. What is going on with her neck?

If I were you, I'd go ahead and buy tube feeding supplies. One of the most useful tools in bird-keeping, IMO. I've noticed recently there has been a spike in sellers on Amazon, so you can check there since they might offer that fastest shipping. You'll also need some parrot baby feeding formula as well.

Its like she her chest is puffed and has her head it pulled back and resting? Its hard to explain, almost as if she won't extend or stretch her neck. She also has feathers missing back there. I'm not sure if that's just from it resting or if something had gotten to her. It also seems to stay damp since she doesn't extend it. I posted some pictures and videos.

I'll look into ordering supplies.

Thanks for the pictures.

When their neck is tucked in, that is often a sign their sick (they are trying to maintain their warmth) since there metabolic energy levels often decrease, because they don't eat s much, so that may be a sign you want to raise the temperature in her pen a little more.

The problem we have here, is you have a bird displaying fairly non-specific signs, so it's hard for us solely basing on her symptoms to tell you what it might be. Since she had laying problems, could that be it (?) yes, but we just don't know. This is a time where diagnostic tests could be done to further narrow down what might be her problem, but, of course, you don't have access to any of that.

The best thing you can do of now is keeping her in a warm, stressful free, soft padded area with feed and water provided. Once you get the scale, make sure to start weighing her on a daily basis.

Do you have any pictures of her poop?

@isaac is right about amazon having a lot of feeding tube "kits" for animals but after looking through them I see that the actual tube is too small for a grown duck. The smaller the "fr" the smaller the tube so the 8 and 10 fr tubes might be good for a really small duck but not for yours. It would take forever to get the food down with something that small. You really need an 18 fr tube at the smallest.

I did find one that will work nicely for you and here is the link to it. You'll want the 60ml kit.

Good call. For some reason, I thought the tubes were bigger in size.
