Well I have 4 pullets. A gold laced Wyandotte, a buff Orpington, and Easter Egger, and a New Hampshire. They were hatched the first week of May. One is now laying! Everyday. One egg. But... It's tiny! It's about half the length of a finger. Every time it's like a mini-egg! Is it possible she could be laying bantams? Or just laying little bitty eggs? (Note: the egg is a peachy cream color, so if you have a guess which chicken it may be let me know!)

When chickens first begin laying, their eggs are generally small. As a bit of time passes and their "plumbing" gets it together, the size of the eggs will increase. A standard breed chicken will not lay a bantam egg so what you are seeing is normal. Just be patient, bigger eggs are coming.

Thanks! Just making sure nothing's wrong
