For clarity, I meant along side the electrolyte water. I'm sure you always leave water for them. Thanks! Noted! We do always keep mostly plain water out.

I understood what you meant! Yes, we always leave both out and I meant we leave more water out than electrolytes (i.e. small cup of electrolyte solution, large cup or cups of cool water). It gets hot here frequently and anytime it goes above 80 (or even 75 for a few of them) they start panting. When that seems nonstop for a while, I usually put some electrolyte solution out for them next to the water, but I will dial it back to only about once per week. For clarity, I meant along side the electrolyte water. I'm glad you did, but many will read this. No such thing as too much info.I understood what you meant! I use a mop bucket . They seem to like it. I guess they are up to the top of their back. I throw a towel over bird. They will just sit there, they could get out if they wanted to. I do it when they are overheating , and when broody. I don't have any roosters. I also do it if they have lice, or a dirty butt.Thank you so much for sharing your tips and experience. It is good to know that I'm not overreacting/to know not to get complacent about it. I will definitely try keeping her inside next time to lay in the cage. I do need to get a slightly deeper container to dunk them in. I can only go about vent level/just to the bottom of the wings, and I think you're supposed to go up to the bottom of their neck, right?
We do have shade sails and stuff over it, but it's just too hot in that location. I will try the wet towel trick next time (thank you for the idea!!!). We keep them out in the yard when it's this hot (and have a thermometer in the coop to keep track because local weather never seems to report Temps as high as it really is in our yard). I'm hoping finishing the move of their coop and run tonight will make it much better in there for them. The other part of the yard has much more shade in general so doesn't radiate as much heat from nearby ground. Can you put up a tarp or something to block the sun from the coop? Maybe put some wet towels over the top of the coop? It's too hot for her in there.
Definitely not. I very much appreciate more info over less (and hope I didn't come off as offended in any way)!! Plus my first response wasn't worded well... a little light headed from checking on them in the heat out there. Thank you for clarifying.I'm glad you did, but many will read this. @aart, location thing please.
If you could add your location to the information under your avatar, it would help people trying to give you advice. People who live in your climate could help more. It's been around 100 here for days, but I am in the AZ desert, and I don't know if you are in a humid location, etc.We do have shade sails and stuff over it, but it's just too hot in that location. I'll try that! So far, they seem to hate it when I do it, except for a few moments while they're in there. Maybe it will feel better/ they'll like it more with some deeper water.I use a mop bucket .
