New Layer Won't leave 100F+ Nesting Box

Definitely not. I very much appreciate more info over less (and hope I didn't come off as offended in any way)!! Plus my first response wasn't worded well... a little light headed from checking on them in the heat out there. Thank you for clarifying.
You didn't. I just try to make sure what I'm trying to say actually comes across as intended.

If you could add your location to the information under your avatar, it would help people trying to give you advice. People who live in your climate could help more. It's been around 100 here for days, but I am in the AZ desert, and I don't know if you are in a humid location, etc.
Thanks, I'll do that. Just joined today and didn't realize. I'm in bay area, in a more desert-like micro climate. Not as hot as AZ in general, but can get close... and is dry.

What is your coop like? Any pictures in case we have suggestions to help make it cooler? I use a fan pointed out of the farthest window that pulls air from the door and 4 other windows. My coop is shaded. You can use shade cloth or tarps to keep things cooler. I change water twice a day so they have cool water always. Flat pans of shaded water also are good to help them cool their legs.
It's a starter coop, and has many areas for improvement. It is one of the basic ones with a tiny run attached where the roof of the coop pops up, but it doesn't have any ventilation above them. It always cools off at night here, and I'm working from home a lot with the pandemic (we just got them in Feb), so when it gets hot I let them out and they go over to the shady areas. My phone just died so I can't upload a picture right now. We have a shade umbrella and shade sail over that area, but it doesn't cover the ground nearby which is fully exposed most of the day and radiates a lot of heat. We are finishing up a move to the other part of our yard that is shaded all day and is noticeably cooler. Next up is to build a bigger run, and then to build a better coop. I am definitely interested in your design ideas in general because we'll be starting from scratch, and what type of fan you use/ how that's set up!
