New layers laying too many eggs?

We have two silkie pullets and one sizzle cockerel, all hatched last October. He's been crowing for months and is now mating with the girls. We got our first (ever) egg last Saturday! Not sure who it was, but we're now getting more so I know both are laying. However, we got FOUR eggs today. Three this morning, one this afternoon. Here is the laying schedule from the first egg to now:

Saturday: 1 in morning
Monday: 2 in morning
Tuesday: 1 in morning
Thursday: 3 in morning, 1 in afternoon

I'm really pleased but very surprised they're laying so many already. Especially four in one day from two chickens, heh. Is this anything to be concerned about? The eggs look fine, as far as I can tell anyway, actually less wonky than I expected for early eggs. I guess I'm concerned that one of the layers was backed up or something. Or is this typical?

Thanks!

I had always read that maximum production was one egg every 25 hours. I'll be interested to see what other readers have to say about this post.

Do you think someone is pulling your leg? My husband did that once. Of course I didnt know much about chickens back then. We had just purchased two hens and I dont remember how long after but he calls me outside and I see a bunch of eggs scattered everywhere. Lol. I could have hit him when I realized he was a big fat liar.

I've read maximum production is one egg a day due to the fact it takes 24 hours to make a egg.my littl silkie just started laying and I'll get a egg a day. Most in the AM.but if she skips a day she will lay around 3 pm. Is it possible that some eggs got burried only to re surface later?
