new mama to 9 chicks

Hi! Welcome to BYC! Chicks are definitely fun, and it just keeps getting better as they grow into beautiful hens. Enjoy!

Thank you.. my ration is off with 3 roo's and 6 hens.. but I fell in love with them all at 1 day old. I decided if I need 2 coops, so be it. :) so far, at 11 weeks, everyone is good. my hen Octavia is head girl... and the most stubborn. I have been wondering if she's a later developing roo tho..

Ugh...I feel your pain. I have 2 roosters and 3 cockerels, and I can't bring myself to cull any of them. They are such beautiful birds. Two are with the 14 girls, one has a coop/run of his own, and 2 are in the bachelor pad. :gig I cannot bring myself to cull any of these beautiful birds. :love

I couldn't either! I've raised them from 1 day old.. and know each one so well... even the biggest roo (think he might be part broiler) despises me, lol but he's my lil Jerry (my fathers request) he doesn't need to like me or jump in my lap like the others do.. I just want him to be and healthy like the rest. :)
