He was feeding them scratch grains which is basically corn wheat and maybe some oats.
Ducks require a much higher protein than the scratch grains to keep their feathers and health in good condition.
I understand they are molting but these have badly broken tail and wing feathers.
I caught them today and examined them they appear to be of a good weight and are alert and eating.
Thanks for all the replies i now know how wild they really are and their behavior is somewhat normal.
I won't put them with my calls because my Calls are super tame they will sit in your lap.
I'm going to sell one of the females and work on getting the pair in a better condition.
Time will tell as to if they are for me i have had some flighty birds and i know how to approach and communicate with them.
