As for the "French Standard" term, most are referring to the shank/toe feathering. If they aren't born with any feathers on their legs, they aren't going to have them as adults. Even when two birds with feathering are bred, there can still be chicks born with no leg feathers. Just another fault in the breed to overcome. Seems to be an easy fix with the next generation.
