New member, again, but second time chicken keeper.

Welcome back! I was in TN a decade ago, when I was first active here. Life happened and I am now in Wilson, NC and started back with chickens this past spring. I have a much bigger chicken math problem now. :lau
Hahaha! I can't have many more chickens, maybe 5 more, total, but I seem to be having a problem with my cat math these days. Adopted #9 from a shelter in Raleigh on Thursday.
Welcome to NC! I'm a Raleigh native but grew up in Clayton, so not too far from Wilson.

We are also a cat family, but stopped at four. We had to stop going to PetSmart because we want to take them all home. Fortunately Wilson has no laws regarding chickens in town. Started with 4EEs, then spotted the bantam bin. We have more than I want to admit, and thank goodness for no crow collars. I'm not so worried about nose ordnances now.:yesss:

Thank you for the welcome! Here are some pictures, in random order, of what I've got going on here on our little acre parcel of land. The brooder is in the garage and is currently housing my three Silkies, who are 5 weeks old. The small, green "grow-out" coop, which is on our deck right now, has my three 5 week old Salmon Favorelles girls in it, with heat now that it's getting cold at night here in central NC. The pictures are from when my big girls were in it during the summer.
And the large, red coop has my four almost 20 week old Austra Whites in it. I let them out of their run to enjoy the fenced part of our yard almost every day. When the SFs get big enough to go in the large coop the Silkies will move into the small coop for the winter, if not forever. Going to have to see what sexes we have and what works best for everyone once they're all grown.
I need to get some updated pictures of the 5 week old chickies. They grow so fast and they're all in their "ugly" phase right now. :)

Oh, what are crow collars? I've never heard of such a thing... do tell!
