New Member and Chicken and Rabbit owner

I am new to owning chickens. I have 6 Rhode Island Reds and 2 Golden Comets. I never thought I would love having chickens so much. I love to watch them run around doing their thing. It is so peaceful. I am an artist/painter. I also have rabbits. I have California and New Zealand's. I have recently delved into growing our own food and trying to work on being more self sufficient. I ran across BackYardChickens.com when I was looking up chicken questions online. It has been a great source. It has taken me a while to figure out the site and how to post. I did post a new question. We recently switched from a layer crumble to an organic whole grain mix and one of my chickens is developing rickets. If you can help. Welcome to the flock. I agree it can be very relaxing to sit and watch the chickens. I used to have rabbits, they were great fun to watch too, but not really peaceful,lol. I hope you get help with the rickets problem.
