Decided to start raising chickens for eggs and responsibilities for our children (feeding. Watering. Gathering eggs) we had 8 red sexlinks and 2 white Silkies. But we lost one red. We are still positive about the others surviving. We converted an old swing set into a hen house and enclosed coop area. We are adding a "range" area that will be fenced in but we want them to get use to the new area first. We just put them into the coop tonight, praying they make it safely and it's predator proof enough. Photo of coop and girls included

Hi and
welcome-byc.gif
- glad that you have joined us. The Coops section and "coops and runs" forum, plus the "predators and pests" forum might be worth taking a look at in terms of assessing how "safe" your coop and run is.

Additionally, you'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre
https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center, and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

All the best
