Hi!

This is the first time i’ve posted on here, but this group has helped me out over the years. I’m not new to having chickens and have had them for almost seven years now! I started out with four black Cochin hens, then a week later added two Easter chicken pullets! Over the following years, I lost an Easter chicken and two of my Cochins—one to disease and one was killed by dogs.

Then, I bought day old chicks from Tractor Supply and raised them, unfortunately I had a massive disease spread through my flock in 2016 and nearly all my Tractor Supply hens died, then my two remaining Cochins—Florence and Prudence—died of old age.
So, last February I went to Rural King and picked out seven chicks to raise—three Barred Rock, two Buff Orphingtons and two Silver-laced Wyandottes—and now that brings my flock up to nine: a Easter chicken, Maggie, a hybrid, Ellie, my barred rocks—Angie, Annie and Gracie, and my two orphingtons—Buffy and Luna.

That’s my story of my chicken experience so far, and I’m looking forward to getting to know people who love their chicks as much as I do!
