Hello there, not only am I new to BYC I am new to chicken keeping. I have 7 EE hens and they are wonderful, hatched June 20th and they started laying about 3 weeks ago. We are now getting 3 to 4 eggs a day and they are beautiful. Looking forward to adding to my flock this spring, would like to add 5 to 7 more girls. I would like any advice as to adding new girls to the flock and any suggestions as to what breeds lay well throughout the winter and are pretty docile? I have a insulated 8X5 coop with an attached/roofed chicken run 8X10, the coop has 6 nesting boxes in the "upstairs". Suggestions how much to "add on"to the chicken house and yard in order to increase my flock please. thank you (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
