Hello, Everyone: I'm Darrell Cook from central Kentucky (Richmond, Madison County).

Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I am new to chickens but plan on getting started in the process within the month. I hope to have a closing date soon on a small farm (15 acres).

How many chickens do you have right now?

N/A

What are some of your other hobbies?

I enjoy hunting and fishing, almost anything to do with the outdoors.

Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

Now a "retiree", retiring as a law enforcement training instructor at the police academy in Richmond, KY. I live with my wife, Jeannine and one unsociable cat. I also have a small firearms training business. I also teach online, occasionally, for the U. of Phoenix.

I believe my exposure to this forum will help me tremendously as I learn about how to raise chickens.

Do you plan to raise chickens for eggs only or for meat as well?
