Hi there! I'm located in eastern washing North of Spokane. As a result of researching the Swedish Flower Hens I found the great thread about the breed on this forum and have been reading through it for the past month or so. This seems like a great resource of all types of info on chickens!
I have had chickens in the past, and incubated my own chicks- but it has been about ten years. This time around I'm interested in using private genetics (vs. hatchery) and also trying a new breed (swedish flowers). I am swedish myself and they seem like a neat breed.
I have four swedish flower chicks and a dozen eggs incubating right now. A few mixed breed chicks which were from our first practice runs through the incubator =) Also seven juveniles, sort of one of everything type of thing. I let my children pick the breeds. They went with one each of (BLRW, BR, RIR, SS, LB and two EE/BLRW crosses) Its been really fun! This way they get to have fun and mom can focus on her hobby with the SFH.
I also raise and breed Nubian Dairy Goats under the herd name Halo-M. Goats has been a passionate hobby for the last fifteen years.
I look forward to learning more on the forum! Thanks!
