I was thinking about Wyandottes and Black Sex link as my second flock. I know that we will have to cull the hens as they get older, so I'll rotate breeds

I think Wyandottes are a good choice A friend of mine had a few that layed until 9 years old. Of course it wasn't as often as a young hen, but nonetheless impressive.

Black sex links are my favorite hens. They are very hardy, friendly, egg laying machines. I've raised them for years & they have consistently been my best layers, frequently laying over 300 eggs per hen per year
