Just joined after checking out the site a bit. I have 27 Red Sex Links-25 hens and 2 roosters that were hatched on 6 March of this year. So far so good as I haven't lost any and they seem to be doing well. We had chickens when I was growing up, but these are my first of my own. Look forward to meeting folks here and hopefully learning more and sharing what I do know.

Thought I'd add a couple of pics.

I know it's not as fancy as many I've seen on here, but it works for us. There is no money in this coop/pen except for the concrete I poured around the outside perimeter of both the pen and coop, and for the hasp I bought for the pen door. The coop has solar lights a full screen door and a steel door to shut when the weather is bad. I have 24 laying boxes made from milk crates inside the coop. There are cameras watching that I can check for predators.
