Know any Ledfords?
So far the only predator I have had is my sons cat killing my chickie babies, so the cat was made to go live with my son

Hope you enjoy it here and glad to meet ya!

2 folks from Grainger County? How neat is that! I live just down the road from y'all, in the sprawling metropolis of Washburn.

Up till yesterday, we had 2 roosters and a hen.. But, for some odd reason, the hen keeled over graveyard dead. I'll be goin' to Morristown in August for the "First Monday Sale", where I hope to pick up a few more hens.. There're usually several folk there who have bunches of chickens for sale. I'm probably going to get 2 regular size and 2 banty's.

Anyway, it's pretty cool to find 2 others here who live in the same county as I do. Maybe we can get together one day and shake hands.

Take care.

sounds good to me

folks up here are pretty nice, and will give you the shirt off their backs, of course theres always pricks anywhere you go, but compared to Maryville, ...the nice people/mean people ratios are reversed, lol

Grainger100 nice to every 1 goober
Maryville 1 nice to every 100 goobers, loool

Ahh Washburn..

Yikes.. yeah .. My son used to go to joopa elementary.. took a few trips over that mountain to look at horses..That road is seriously dangerous. Workd with a guy who lives on that road and visited the joppa mountain pottery a few times also.
Oh and if ya guys going to the tomato festival. My father in law is setting up there with furniture he makes.. its really neat stuff. He is a short guy .He looks just like William Shattner..Not the young one

Clucka doodle doo .. Sorry to hear that.Sometimes they just do keel over for no good reason I guess..
We had to off a raccoon last night that tried to drag the feeder thru a fence.
We went to that market in Morristown. Wanted 2 chickens but came out with alot more.. lol .5 more guineas and 4 more chicks and a baby turkey. They have lots of critters there .Just go early.. parking is sparce and I had problems drying to park my Avalanche.By 11 or so people starting packing up also. So , go early ,way early. We are definetly going again to just look and maybe get another turkey I think.

Gecko.. you are right.. people are nice here ..I just dont like it here. To much BS and if you burp.. everyone knows about it. The IGA is a gossip place like no other. My mother in law works there.I get to hear all the stuff , not that I want to tho.. lol But we usualy stay by ourselfs anyway. And we have no neightbors to speak off so its ok.
