Hello, I'm a new member but I've been reading the forum since starting my flock a little over a year ago. I'm a scientist at heart and a voracious reader, so when I have a challenge I check all my books, then I do a search on the Internet. BYC is a great source for information! Thank you all for the support!

I too am a scientist at heart ... well more of an engineer at heart. BYC has a broad range of people mostly kind and helpful

To be honest there is a lot to learn that Isnt in the books but the only way to learn it is jump right in.

If you haven't already done so, check out the Learning Center. There are a lot of good articles there on all sorts of poultry topics.

Tell us a bit about your flock, what breeds do you have? Feel free to share a photo if you'd like.

It's nice to have you here!

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us. I hope that you enjoy being a member as much as the rest of us.

All the best

Hi Tweni,

Welcome to BYC! I'm not sure if you have done so already or not, but the Learning Centre is a great place to start, as well as your state thread (just type your state in the search box) as it will put you in contact with other BYC members close to you).

If you post your own thread on "New member Introductions" you will get more responses.

All the best
