Hello! New to the forum- I have a small flock of backyard chickens (7 laying hens). We just moved to a new property so they are inside a small barn right now- I have no idea what kind of hens they are- just that they are all brown! 4 of them we bought already laying and were told they were about a year, the other 3 we raised from day olds and have just started laying 
we are from Alberta, Canada so we have had some challenging weather but we are figuring it out! My fiancé and I live on a small (rented) acreage with our 2 girls (20 months old and almost 7 years old), girl #3 due Feb 14.

Welcome to BYC and Happy Holidays! Have fun with the new chicken adventure and your new home, the kids should enjoy the country life, and Congratulations on the impending arrival!
