You can eat them!Really hoping there aren’t a bunchmy husband said we could eat the extras but I haven’t figured out a good plan of action just yet.
suggestions?
We did consider going to market in our area or selling them. Hoping it’s less then 50% but knowing my luckyYou can eat them!
Often 50% of them or more will be cockerels.
You can also sell them on Craig's List or at a market in your area.
You all have a nice familyThank you! She is a 7yr old German Shepherd who I reached at about 6m roughly - she was hit by a car and brought into the animal hospital I worked for. She had a horrible break in her leg - had to regrow bones back together with 3 pins holding it inside and basically had to grow together over the pins. She had to spend 6 months in a crate, I had to carry her outside let her go potty then pick her back up. It was sad but I would put her crate outside and had a nice lady on FB send me lots of interactive toys for her to play with. She is the sweetest baby in the world. She loves my daughter ever since she was inside me that’s her buddy.View attachment 2640349
You will know by about 6 weeks old usually. We did consider going to market in our area or selling them. Hoping it’s less then 50% but knowing my lucky. My husband said “go get 10 chickens” then didn’t answer my calls and I panicked and bought all 10 straight run thinking it was a good plan. Now I’m fearing the worst.
Thank youYou all have a nice family![]()
I’ve been trying to sex them by figuring out which traits show first but everything I read is opposite of what I read before. My husband said to stop be anxious and wait. One of ours has tail feathers already while the rest don’t but this one also is much larger and already more feathered all over. You will know by about 6 weeks old usually.
You might have gotten lucky and have more pullets than cockerels.![]()
Tail feathers does not work with RIRs. Vent sexing is the way to tell but you cannot do that nowI’ve been trying to sex them by figuring out which traits show first but everything I read is opposite of what I read before. Watch for the ones with a bigger comb and wattles that turn pink. You will be able to tell as they grow.
