Hello fellow backyard chicken lovers!
I grew up in a very self sufficient family and raised plenty of farm animals/birds as a child but got away from it as an adult. At 44 years old, I have found myself enjoying getting back to my roots and decided to start raising chickens this past spring. I raised most from little day old chicks but purchased some mid summer that were 4-6 weeks old. I have Buff and Lavender Orpingtons, Coronation Sussex, and a pair of Black Australorps. I am thoroughly enjoying my chickens and looking forward to learning from the other members here.
