Ameraucana are so beautiful. I have 2 in my flock. Sweet, but yes skittish at first. Time and patience is working for me so far. I intentionally wanted one rooster but apparently I have at least two roosters in my young flock, but the Polish was quick and easy to find as he started to crow at 6 weeks old. He was a bully and several of my girls were scared of him and wouldn't go into coop at night because of him. I re-homed him rather quickly as he demonstrated all the bad traits of an aggressive rooster at a young age. The one cockerel I thought I had seems to actually be a pullet, and one of my Australorps is actually a cockerel. So they all range from 7-10 weeks and fingers crossed he is the only one. I am following your thread tho as I am interested in people's advice on roosters, especially if I end up with more. And, welcome!!! I'm new here too, and a first time chicken momma.I had a feeling I had that spelling wrong![]()
