Hi! New Member here. From Louisiana....in the suburbs/rural outskirts of New Orleans.
On another forum I am known as teampenninglady..."TPL".
New to the chicken world. Been studying and dreaming for a while now....and finally got my first gal:
Her name is "Queen Mildred of Ashbury" or 'Silly Milly". Named her after my mom who passed away this year. Her hair is same as Mom and if you knew my mom, the name fits. She is silkie/cochin mix. She has breakfast in my kitchen with me almost every morning...she likes bagels.
I also have two pullet chicks . One barred rock and the other silver laced wynadotte. They are in my kitchen too but permanently for a while....
Got some Blue laced red wynadottes in the incubator. We'll see what comes of that adventure.
My coop is my old two horse trailer....wasn't being used much so why not...it is solid, dry and movable. I animal proofed it and installed a fan.
I also have various other animals: dog cats cockatiel and horses.
Enough about me....Looking forward to any and all advise and also to getting to know you guys here.
