Hi All,

Thought I would introduce myself. My name is Lucy, and I live in tropical far north queensland, australia. I have not long purchased my first ever flock of Australorp X girls. I think I will have some fairly unique circumstances for chook keeping once summer starts and the wet season kicks in. Where I live often wins the title of wettest town in Australia, so my poor chookies will have to deal with wet, heat and high humidity. Good thing our house is on stumps, so both the chooks and the dogs will be able to escape the hot weather and the rain :)

I have been lurking on here for quite a while but decided it was time to jump in and participate.
Happy chooking all,

Lucy

Hi and :welcome

from Adelaide. Been to Queensland, I can sympathise about the humidity, though it's dry as anything here. Hope the chooks take the summer okay!

I hope you find all the info you need here, and enjoy the site. :D

Hi !! Im just up the road in Cairns! 16 chooks, mixed bunch in the rainforest. Have a look at the Aussie threads, ok but not enough of us! Snakes & goannas are my biggest problems. I have to lock mine in wooden sleeping boxes at night which works really well. No matter how secure my main pen is, white tails will bite thru the wire which makes way for the pythons, I'm sure they work in tandem!
Welcome, nice to have someone who is basically a nieghbour!
