I'm glad you joined.

I don't know much about keeping ducks (I've only kept chickens), but they are very pretty! Good luck with yours.

I've thought about chickens for quite some time, but DH doesn't do chickens (he had a bad experience with them when he was a youngster - attacked by a rooster). I love them. I spent a lot of my formative years on a farm, and I miss having them.

Ducks seem to be a good substitute. He loves them, and they make him laugh with their silly antics. I figure if I can get that out of him, ducks it is.

Thanks again, everyone!

I have babies on the way sometime in April/May. Ten Muscovy ducks. This is going to be fun. And scary. :D

Just realized I said I'd post pics of the girls:

Meet Peek and Poke, my "rescue" ducks. This is the closest I could get to them to take a picture. They are really super skittish around people. They run to the farthest side of the pen when I bring them their food and water in the morning. They don't seem to mind my dogs, though, even though Pixel charges the fence every time I let them out. They just give her a look like, "Really? We're not impressed."

Does anyone know anywhere on the western slope that sells ducks or has any ducks for adoption. I am in need of a few companion ducks for a single mallard who cannot fly.
