Glad you joined us. It is amazing how a common interest connects us all.

I took my dog to a vet in the mountains of northwest North Carolina today where I have a vacation home. Got her checked out, got her 3 year rabies shot, distemper, parvo, hepatites combo shot, nails trimmed, Heartgard heartworm preventative 6 month supply. Total for all that for $76. The heartworm medication was the bulk of it. Petmeds sells it for around $50 for six pills. The same visit to a vet on Long Island would be cost at least three times.

Reasonably priced vet services are still available in the United States. You just have to look outside the big metro areas. Sometimes the cost savings may make it cheaper to take the trip and visit the country.

The fees in the UK are pretty much the same, the only problem is that quite a lot of medication such as antibiotics, are prescription only, so you have to visit the vets.... So, I will probably take up an offer I recently had on here to get medication from the USA when I need it next :)
