Hello all!

I am a new member representing Lancaster Pennsylvania! I look forward to learning many new things from experienced chicken people:) I currently have 30 different varieties of fowl and plan to expand even more next year. I would love to hear everyone's favorite breeds. The varieties I currently have are Ameraucana, Australorp, Easter Egger, RIR, Production RIR, Black Sex-link, Appenzeller Spitzhauben, Barred Plymouth Rock, Speckled Sussex, Cochins, Guineas, Marans, Salmon Faverolles, Black Jersey Giant, Orpington, Isbar, Barnevelder, Wyandotte, Welsummer, White Faced Black Spanish, Cream Crested Legbar, Rhodebar, Silkie, Sizzle, Brahma, Maradona Basque, Khaki Campbell ducks, and Java is all I can remember off the top of my head but I know there are more haha! I am very excited to be a part of this awesome site!

Thanks all,

Wow...you sure do have the fowl!! And some very nice breeds at that! The only breeds I keep are Black Australorps and Barred Rocks, along with some Bobwhite Quail. I just love my Australorps. Such gentle, docile birds that love to sit on my lap. Ha!

Make yourself at home here. And if you have any questions about anything, feel free to ask around the forums.

Great to have you aboard and welcome to our flock!

I'm glad you joined us.

Wow, you have a wide variety of birds! My favorite breed is the Wyandotte. I love their inqusitive and docile temperaments, their good egg production, and their extreme hardiness.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join to our flock. Black Sex Links are my favorite. They are friendly and hardy, egg laying machines. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds and hybrids), and they have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 eggs per hen per year. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
