Hello my fellow chook lovers!! I'm new here, obviously, and I'm preparing to build a coop for my yard. It will be on the smaller side, I dont have room to build a big one, or I certainly would! I'm going to look around the site but if any of you who have built coops have something you would absolutely change...PLEASE lend me your advice on whatever aspect that is. Thanks so much, I will see you all around!!

:frow Welcome to BYC! Something I would love to change on our coop is outdoor nest box accessibility. Lol, I didn't quite know how to say that so if you didn't understand it, here is a pic of what I would like to have on my coop and what I'd suggest to you:

You can see here that you can open the nest boxes from the outside and get eggs rather than having to go into the coop to get eggs. Hope this helps! :)

Henny1129, I do have those in my plan so far, I agree, great idea! My friend with a coop does not...and I care for her girls when she leaves town, I have to walk inside to get eggs....not bad, but not ideal! And since Im building, I figured I would try to cover my must haves if possible.
