New member from Michigan!

Me and my husband just bought a new house and it is a prefect area to raise chickens! I have always wanted to raise some kind of farm animal and now I can! So excited. We went yesterday and got supplies for the chicks but now we just have to go get them. I don't know how many we should get to start. Any input?

We are going to build the coop this week but we have a 4x2 brooder for them to start in...we got the light and the food and water things feed and bedding for the brooder. Do I need anything else and how big should a coop big compared to number of chickens? I am getting welsummer chicks
