Welcome to BYC. We bought our 30 acres a little over 1 year ago & like you, my husband (aka DH) & I have been working on Improvements. We are working on our irrigation system this winter. Building a poultry barn is something we would like to do in the next year or so. What other livestock do you have or planning for. Please share your build progress here. I'd love to follow along.

Located in Central North Carolina. My wife and I acquired our 20 acre homestead 2 years ago. We spent the first 2 years clearing and establishing our 2 acre garden areas, getting water and water lines installed on the property, and now we are beginning the planning stage of our Poultry/Quail/Rabbit housing areas for meat and eggs, plus fertilizer. I have been around poultry most of my life, but not at this scale. My goal is to have a big enough flock of chickens and quail to sustain my family's meat and egg needs, plus move some eggs at the farmers market and to neighbors for income. Looking forward to learning a lot from you guys.

Thanks for the welcome everyone, Our plans are to raise poultry along with Rabbits, a pig or 2, and a few cows. I can handle the Chicken, Quail, rabbit, and pig processing I've done a few of each In the past, but cows will be a new experience. Anyway glad to be among like minded people, thanks for having me.
