Hello. I'm new to the chicken game. I live in Long Island NY. I acquired 2 Ameraucana chickens, I think. Maybe someone can chime in if I'm wrong. Great site here. Thanks!!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I tried clicking on your link, but it's not working. You may have true Ameraucanas, but most new members who tell us they have Ameraucanas actually have Easter Eggers. True Ameraucanas are relatively rare and expensive, have slate blue legs, lay only blue eggs (not green, blue-green, etc.), and are not sold by feed stores, tractor supply stores, or hatcheries (with the exception of Meyer which sells Blue Ameraucanas). Hatcheries often in correctly market their Easter Eggers under the label, Ameraucana (often misspelled as Americana or Americauna). There is a good article explaining the difference between Ameraucanas, Araucanas, and Easter Eggers at http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2011/09/ameraucana-easter-egger-or-araucana.html. If you can post a pic for us, we can tell you for sure whether or not you have true Ameraucanas or Easter Eggers. Our Easter Eggers are my granddaughter's (pictured in my avatar) favorite chickens. She loves the different colored eggs that they lay. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

We're glad to have you.

Unfortunately, I can't see the photos either. Maybe try posting them again?
