I've had the same type of thing with dog packs and single dogs killing the entire flock on several occasions over the years. I gave up on the free range idea and fenced off a very large area this year. I also fenced off my garden which shares a fence with the chicken run and will let the chickens into the garden in the fall for cleanup and tillage reasons. My guineas do fly out and patrol the area for bugs. I had to order new keets this year cause raccoons got my last couple females last year while setting eggs out in the field.
P.S. It may be satisfying to shoot the killer dogs, but its not effective in the long run, if fido, spot, or rover doesn't come home-----they just buy more.
