(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I got my first chicken February 12th 2022, I then went and got 7 more so she wouldn’t be lonely. Then one of my friends bought himself a chick on a whim and kept it for like a day before he called me and asked if I want it :)
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I have 9 total adult chickens. I just hatched 7 chicks and I’m waiting on the remaining 9 :)
(3) What breeds do you have?

Honestly I am not sure maybe someone can help me. I got them from Atwood’s so I believe they’re most likely a bunch of crossbreeds with a few pure. Some have feathers ripped out from a rooster I just recently made free roam so he’d stop hurting the them.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

Everything! But mainly the eggs. I have one chicken that I kept in my bathroom for a month before I got my others and put them in a brooder and she knows her name and comes when I call for her!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Writing, drawing, reading, singing, piano, dirtbiking, collecting glass horses, etc.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I’m currently a senior in high school and will be graduating in May! My family loves animals a lot!! Now on to pets.. I have 7 cats (outside and inside), 5 dogs, 3 goats, 2 pigs, a bunny, a hamster, a parrot, and a bearded dragon. I currently have no job, but I am a concurrent student meaning that while I am in high school I am also taking college classes.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I found BYC just a few weeks ago when I had first started incubating my eggs. I was stressing over the incubation and trying to research as much as possible. I decided to join because I have a certain chick that is giving me trouble.

Welcome to BYC.
I think I see a Russian orloff, a blue australorp, a mottled cochin bantam, a Japanese white black tail bantam rooster, a black star, and another production type hen. The dark color rooster might be a hybrid. The barred rooster may be a barred rock or if he has pink skin, a cuckoo marans.
